South Milton & Thurlestone Sands

A varied week for the two of us. Pete's first trip to town by train for a meeting was an experience. Three hours each way and trying to do some work on the way. You have slightly more room than on a plane, but not really enough to work comfortably - maybe first class next time.

Julie had a busy week dog walking and helping friends with some last minute tweaks to their restaurant before it opened on Friday. What with keep fit and her fit walk (walking along the SW Coastal Path and stopping along the way for some exercise on the beach) she was worn out.

We went to the second opening event of the restaurant on Saturday and it was a really successful turn-out. We wish Richard, Julie and Will all the very best with Dick & Wills.

Today we followed Julie's fit walk route starting at South Milton/Thurlestone Sands and the then on the South West Coastal Path along the edge of the Thurlestone golf course. The walk will eventually lead you to Bantham Sands - near to Burgh Island. We took some shots that included the hotel at Burgh Island (Art Deco hotel used in Poirot, etc.), but decided to go with the pictures on this page to show what the day was like.

As you can see it was another glorious day, just like the height of summer and you could easily have got a bit of a tan if you'd wanted. Next time we'll start at Bantham sands and work our way back to Warren Point, which is as far as we walked today.

Next week is another busy week for Julie as she helps other friends get their deli ready for its opening.

I bet those photo's don't do it any justice either! i have been on the coastal path before but am staying in a lovely Devon b&b, England styled short breaks are the best you can keep the trashy themed parks and queues, I just want to be far away from noise! I'll be there in a few weeks!
